Situated under the shady canopy of trees, there are ten allocated sites, eight of which have river views. Each site has a barbecue facility with grid and wash up basin with cold water, lights and electrical plug points. The ladies and gents ablutions are neat and clean and have steaming hot showers and a wash basin facility. The main campsite bar area has a small restaurant with a basic bar menu. We also offer four spacious dome tents on decks, with twin beds and comfortable bedding. These tents are serviced by a separate private ablution.
The Okavango River hosts a healthy fish population and offers some of the best sport fishing in Africa. The Tiger Fish hunts in the crystal clear open waters which offer unforgettable fishing, for the novice and experienced angler alike. The lodge has five well equipped fishing boats, each one skippered by well trained and experienced fishing guides. We suggest that avid sport fishermen bring their own equipment for both fly and lure fishing.
Guests will have the opportunity of guided, boating excursions to admire the abundant birdlife, taking time to search for the more rare and endemic bird species (Pel’s Fishing Owl, African Skimmer, White Backed Night Heron, and the Narina Trogon).
The lodge offers day trips to Tsodilo Hills, to view the Bushman Paintings. An hour’s drive away, your professional guide will take you on a guided tour through the Hills, followed by a picnic lunch, returning to the lodge in the late afternoon. There is also game-viewing in Mahangu National Park, across the border in Namibia.
