The Mahangu Safari Lodge is a proverbial “new kid on the block” in Namibia’s Caprivi region, but has already made name as a comfortable, stylish establishment. The Lodge is next to the Mahango National Park and West Caprivi National Park in Namibia, right on the banks of the Okavango River and close to the Popa Falls. If you are therefore on your way to or from the Okavango Delta, Victoria Falls, or Maun, this is the ideal stopover.

Accommodation at the Mahangu Safari Lodge takes the form of 7 airconditioned en suite double-bed thatched bungalows, 4 luxury air-conditioned en suite safari tents, as well as 3 air-conditioned guide bungalows with shared facilities. The bungalows and safari tents all have tea/coffee-making facilities, filtered water, mosquito nets and hairdryers. There are also a number of camping sites with power points and shared ablutions right on the banks of the river.
The two sunset decks overlooking the Okavango River also have wonderful views into the neighbouring Caprivi National Park. Keen photographers and birding enthusiasts find this an excellent place to see a lot without actually moving a finger. The restaurant offers a set menu, and as in the case of the bar, lounge and swimming pool, overlooks the river.
A visit to the Mahangu Safari Lodge offers many opportunities for boat trips on the Okavango River, game drives to the neighbouring Mahango National Park and West Caprivi National Park, game viewing boat trips, guided fishing trips (the water is teeming with bream and tiger-fish) and bird-watching. The area around the Mahango National Park is particularly suited to elephant, hippos, crocodiles and the haunting cry of the fish eagle can often be heard.
