The Canon Village is a sister establishment of the Canon Lodge and Canon Roadhouse in the Gondwana Canyon Park, near the Fish River Canyon in Namibia. The granite boulders around the Canon Village are breathtaking and form a superb background to the Village. The Canon Village is designed to depict the lifestyle of the Bondelswart Nama, who were the original inhabitants of this area near Namibia's Fish River Canyon.
Cañon Village is situated only 20 km from the Fish River Canyon's main lookout point. These attractive thatched cottages hug the foot of a rocky outcrop in the Godwana Cañon Park. A restaurant and swimming pool is available to refresh you after a day in the sun.
When you arrive at the Village, your luggage will be transported to your chalet in traditional Namibian style: with a donkey and cart. The 40 thatched chalets are built in Cape Dutch style, and are all en suite. Mosquito nets and ceiling fans take care of the nocturnal buzzing and heat.
The restaurant at the Canon Village serves scrumptious meals and most ingredients (including eggs, yoghurt, smoked meats and vegetables) are produced in the Self-Sufficiency Centre on the premises. The lunch menu is a la carte, while dinner guests can choose from a buffet of meat and vegetable dishes, as well as fresh garden salads.
The natural scenery around the Canon Village in Namibia make for unforgettable vistas and the establishment offers a number of activities to ensure that guests make the most of their stay in Namibia. Experience the natural wonder of the Fish River Canyon by various marked trails, guided hikes, horse trials or a guided canyon drive. For an experience of a lifetime, book a flight over the Fish River Canyon upon your arrival at the Canon Village.
Excursions include horseback rides, walks or drives to experience this unique desert park. Cañon Village is a perfect point from which to explore this part of Namibia.
