Rundu is the capital of Namibia's northeastern region, the Kavango, and it borders on the Kavango River. This is also the border between Namibia and Angola, and because Angola used to be a Portuguese colony, Rundu has somewhat of a Portuguese atmosphere. The region offers beautiful landscapes, spectacular sunsets, friendly people, comfortable accommodation and fine cuisine – what more could any traveler desire? The town is the ideal spot to refuel or to stopover when you are heading to or from the Etosha National Park, Mudumu National Park, the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park and the Bwabwata National Park. Temba Travel recommends the Kaisosi River Lodge, Omashare Hotel and the Hakusembe River Lodge.
Rundu is one of Namibia's most beautiful landscapes and is a unique spot to visit. Spectacular sunsets, friendly people, comfortable accommodation and fine cuisine makes the Kaisosi River Lodge a must for all travelers.
Great spots for fishing and birdwatching are available along the river. Guided fishing trips as well as river cruises on the Kavango River can be arranged.
